Happy Earth Week

Trees & Houses

Happy Earth Day ?! Being able to see the ocean from the hills of Eagle Rock is usually a rare occurrence, but not this past month. Between the heavy rains in March and the Stay-at-Home orders, LA is enjoying the longest stretch of clean air since the 1980s. The clean air and incredible views are helping us stay positive and stay motivated during quarantine. What is keeping you motivated?

Trees & Houses

With many of us working from home, it is more important than ever to have plants in your home – not only are they pretty to look at, but they also absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, helping to keep your indoor air fresh and you focused. If you’re in the Eagle Rock neighborhood, you can get fresh plants from our neighbor Folia Collective who is offering delivery within 10 miles as well as contactless pickup. Bring the outside into your home by shopping “Plants To-Go” on their website and use the code PICKUP.

Our favorites? The fiddle leaf fig (Ficus Lyrata), the rubber plant (Peperomia Obtusifolia), and the string of pearls (Senecio Rowleyanus).

And be sure to pick up one of their signature Folia Jungle Tote bags to carry all the plants home (you might need more than one) – all week, they will be donating 20% of all sales of the tote bag to Friends of the LA River in honor of Earth Week and Folia’s 4th birthday ?.

(Plants are a great gift for Mom too…hint hint: Mother’s Day is May 10th ?!)

And while trails, parks, and beaches are closed, don’t forget that a quick walk around your neighborhood is still a great way to enjoy the outdoors and get some exercise, too (just don’t forget your mask or bandana).
